Responsibilities:
- Assist in mechanical system maintenance and repairs:
- Support the facility management team in conducting routine maintenance on mechanical systems, including but not limited to HVAC, air compressors, boilers, chillers, and ventilation systems.
- Collaborate with experienced technicians to troubleshoot issues, diagnose problems, and carry out necessary repairs or replacements to maintain optimal operations.
- Conduct preventive maintenance:
- Assist in implementing and following preventive maintenance schedules for mechanical systems to ensure their optimal performance and longevity.
- Perform regular inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment of mechanical equipment and components according to maintenance plans and industry standards.
- Assist in equipment calibration and optimization:
- Participate in equipment calibration procedures to ensure accurate operation of mechanical systems, such as HVAC controls and environmental monitoring systems.
- Collaborate with experienced technicians to optimize mechanical system settings for energy efficiency and adherence to industry regulations.
- Support mechanical projects and installations:
- Assist the facility management team in planning and executing mechanical system projects, such as equipment upgrades or installations.
- Assist in project coordination, including researching and sourcing materials, assisting with procurement processes, and collaborating with contractors or vendors.
- Ensure compliance and safety:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements while working on mechanical systems to promote a safe working environment.
- Stay updated with mechanical codes, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and contribute to maintaining lab standards.
- Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree or certification in mechanical engineering, HVAC, or a related field
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems commonly used in facilities, such as HVAC, air compressors, boilers, chillers, and ventilation systems
- Familiarity with maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for mechanical equipment
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Physical stamina to handle mechanical tasks that may involve lifting, bending, or working in confined spaces
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes in the facility management industry
