Job Role: Credit Risk Analyst – Officer

Location: Mumbai

Job Description:

• Assess the credit and financial strength of Citi’s most complex Large Corporate Clients by performing fundamental credit analysis of counterparties using both quantitative and qualitative factors
• Complete Credit Analysis Write-up Memos and Final Obligor Risk Ratings of Citi’s Counterparties based on independent assessment and judgement completed on the due diligence of the client and industry knowledge to provide appropriate extensions of credit remaining within Risk appetite
• Continuous monitoring of the covered portfolio, including following industry trends, impacts to key relationships, and escalation of potential credit issues to various partners
• Reviewing and providing recommendation on the risk raking across this sector
• Partnership with applicable regional and industry stakeholders in the implementation of credit assessment and monitoring standards for applicable portfolios
• Support Voice of the Employee (VOE) initiatives
• Travel (less than 10%)

Requirements:

• BA/BSc or higher degree in Business (MBA), or any other related subject
• 1-3 years relevant experience
• Fundamental analytical skills, including an understanding of key financial components (liquidity position, leverage profile) with the ability to identify root causes and trends and anticipate horizon issues
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of financial statements and GAAP accounting or similar governance relating to country of operation
• Displays basic industry research capabilities, including risk and key drivers
• Basic understanding of Credit Policy and procedures; proactively refers to resources as needed
• Demonstrates ability to identify potential risk issues that need escalation and escalates them promptly
• Assists colleagues in identifying stretch opportunities to elevate individual and team performance
• Proven culture carrier
• Interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and exert influence with and without direct authority

Job Description:

• Accurately spreads business and personal financial statements and business and individual tax returns on a timely basis and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Citibank policies.
• Ensure that financial data for simple to complex credits are mapped appropriately into the bank’s matrix and analysis tool.
• Provides comments to the judgmental Underwriter on significant items in the financials and may be involved in credit structure and loan pricing. Additional responsibilities may include being a specialist for a designated industry and the effective interaction with Credit Officers and Relationship Managers while providing assistance regarding the analysis of the applications.
• Spread new, renewal and interim financial statements and business and individual tax returns in accordance with bank guidelines (focus on more complex financial statements (i.e. Not-For-Profit).
• Provide succinct analysis based on customers, peers, the portfolio, and the industry.
• Provide preliminary analysis of simple to complex credits, including calculation of cash flow, debt service coverage, collateral coverage, and guarantor net worth.
• Coordinate with the Credit Officers, Credit Analysts, Other Credit Center Staff and Relationship Managers.
• Act in an advisory role for the Credit Officers/Relationship Managers on loan agreement/covenants clarification and monitoring.
• Complete quality assurance reviews to ensure application packages and analysis are thorough and accurate prior to forwarding for underwriting.
• May act as an industry specialist with responsibility for SBA/EXIM loan analysis
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
• 0-2 years prior experience in a financial institution with a focus on credit analysis and spreading software.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP accounting, financial regulations, financial products, and credit analysis.
• Ability to analyze business and personal financial statements with respect to GAAP and Citibank policies.

Job Summary:

• The Transaction Risk Investigator will be responsible for various tasks related to investigating and eliminating online ecommerce risk.
• The ideal candidate will have experience in the ecommerce payments industry, possess previous trust and safety experience, and have a proven track record of success in a customer-driven work environment.
• This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team setting.
• The Transaction Risk Investigator will work under minimal supervision from the Manager and will rely on excellent judgment to plan and achieve goals.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct investigations to identify and mitigate online ecommerce risk.
• Utilize excellent judgment to make independent decisions regarding complex transactions and customer authentication.
• Engage in frequent written and verbal communication with department management, risk analysts, risk engineers, company associates, and third parties.
• Ensure productivity and maintain highest quality assurance standards.
• Leverages appropriate operational tools and applications to find the data.
• Ability to successfully navigate websites.
• Understands and adheres to workflow directions, SOPs.
• Performs a variety of routine standard tasks in non-voice queues like email, chat etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Any Graduate.
• Freshers are eligible.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate complex transactional issues to internal and external customers.
• Strong Problem solving skills.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Aptitude for determining situational needs and providing appropriate solutions.
